It's Great to be 8!
Me and my family moved to Florida in 2019 and it was not easy to find friends here. Between the Pandemic and 2 pregnancies, we kept a lot to ourselves.
In 2023, that changed, and we met amazing friends. One of the families we had an immediate connection with was the Pinho Family. They also had 4 kids who were about the same age as ours.
Lots of barbecues and late night talks later, my brother married Jessica's sister and we officially became family.
So when they decided to have Beatriz's baptism done in Brasilia, during summer break, we decided to attend, since we would be arriving in Brazil one day prior.
Well, it was a journey none of us could have predicted.
We found out one of my daughters' passports had expired the night before our flight from Orlando to Brazil. Both the Brazilian and the American.
I flew with my other 2 daughters and my husband stayed behind to catch the next day's flight with the one daughter who had no passport.
I almost missed our flight from Belo Horizonte to Brasilia (for the baptism) and my husband had to purchase last minute tickets for himself and my daughter.
Lots of phone calls, crying, running and some money later, we all made it to Brasilia for Beatriz's baptism and I had the honor to take the photos and make a short video of this special day.
Beatriz and her family are very dear to me and I love them so much. It was such a privilege to be part of such an important day.
